As a longtime mountain biker, I know what makes the sport special at its core. I know the reason people hurl themselves down hills at dozens of miles an hour, searching for an adrenaline high that never seems to be sated; and that's community. In doing a Red Bull sponsored sport with such a high risk of injury, you form profoundly deep bonds with everyone else on the trail. With this story, I hoped to highlight that community aspect, focusing on in-depth interviews that put it on center stage. I felt video was the most appropriate medium to write my love letter to cycling, as it allows the viewer to see with their own eyes the beauty of Mount Tamalpais and the intensity of both descents and climbs. With thoughtful edits from video editor Aaron Jensen and quality footage and in depth interviews by me, my vision was realized in the video you'll find next to this text box. Enjoy!
