This story's creation was directly prompted by one of President Trump's actions. After I saw on the New York Times that Trump had cut funding to climate organizations like NOAA, I was furious. Being someone that loves the nature around him and spends much of his free time inside of it, this disregard for environmental care was unthinkable to me. However, despite the strength of these personal beliefs, I refused to allow them to bleed into my piece. I maintained an unbiased tone throughout the story, and simply reported the facts without placing a target on the presidents head. This resulted in a nuanced exploration of the decision that was all the better for its unbiasedness. Read it here
